If you take a look at the research on creatine monohydrate, it appears as though this supplement has no direct effect on fat metabolism. However, a number of studies show rather dramatic improvements in body composition as a result of creatine supplementation. In line with this, the clinical trials we’ve completed with micronized creatine have shown a rather powerful indirect effect on fat metabolism that resulted in a stronger and leaner physique.

For example, supplementation with Micronized Creatine is shown to provide better gains in lean (muscle) mass without any gain in body fat. Automatically, this will lower an athlete’s body fat percentage. However, some other studies that I’ve completed have shown a direct decrease in fat mass alongside gains in muscle mass from supplementation. This is a response that virtually every athlete desires from his or her training. And, very few supplements are shown in clinical trials to provide this benefit.

This ability of Micronized Creatine to promote a reduction in body fat is most likely to be a result of its powerful anabolic effect on muscle anabolism. Micronized creatine enhances gains in muscle mass during bodybuilding training. More lean (muscle) tissue will ensure a faster metabolism; more calories burned each day. This positive influence on metabolic rate would promote fat loss in people who consume a calorie-controlled diet, which is typical of bodybuilders.

The bottom line is that you will only enhance your fat loss results by adding Micronized Creatine to your diet. See my article on creatine cycling.
